Mike Flickinger M Div., MS

Mike Flickinger

After serving Peacemaker as a graduate counseling intern, Mike joined the Center as an associate in May 2011. He counsels individuals and couples at the Downingtown and West Chester offices, and has a particular interest in cognitive behavioral and person-centered approaches to therapy. He has a special interest and experience with adoption issues, in helping both adopted children and parents.

After majoring in music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and
Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mike went on to earn a graduate
degree in theology (M.Div.) from St. Charles Seminary, Wynnewood, and a master's degree (M.S.) in counseling and human relations from
Villanova University. As part of his graduate training, Mike also
completed an internship in substance abuse counseling at a local drug
and alcohol treatment center.

Previously, Mike taught English as a second language and served as
international student advisor at St. Joseph's University in
Philadelphia. For several years, he and his wife, Eileen, served as
relief houseparents at the Milton Hershey School in Hershey,
Pennsylvania, where they supervised twelve middle-school girls every
other weekend. Mike and Eileen have been married for eleven years and
have two children.
