About the Group
The Grief Support Group will provide psychoeducation about the grieving process and about the physical, mental and emotional impacts of grief on the bereaved. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own grief stories and provide support and encouragement to one another in a confidential, caring and supportive environment where they can give and receive support. Psychoeducational materials will be given to participants.

Shavaun K. McGinty, MA, LPC, CT
Shavaun is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Grief and Loss Specialist who has been leading grief support groups since 2007. She received her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University in 2007 and certification in thanatology from ADEC (the Association of Death Education and Counseling) in 2014. She has been a grief therapist with the Peacemaker center since 2017.
