Darla is a master’s level intern who has been doing pastoral care in ministry settings for the past 22 years. Pursuing her degree in counseling comes from a desire to continually learn and offer the best care she can to her clients. Darla is passionate about listening closely to each individual’s story and experiences in a way that acknowledges and validates the uniqueness of one’s journey. Darla believes that while suffering and brokenness are a part of our experience here, God wants to meet us in those hard places and bring His presence and peace. While Darla believes that ultimate hope and redemption is found through Jesus, she also recognizes that many have been hurt through faith and the church.
Darla places a high value on the therapeutic relationship and believes that we are wounded in relationships, and we heal in relationships. She prioritizes creating a safe place to wrestle with the joys and sorrows of life and empowering clients to take ownership of their own choices and responses to life.
