Knitting, Crochet & Mental Health

Explore the Benefits of Knitting & Crochet for Mental Health in individual session

The Peacemaker Center is delighted to offer this in-person, individual therapy opportunity to explore the mental health benefits of knitting or crochet and would like to learn these handicrafts. Knitting and crochet have been shown to increase mental health and decrease anxiety and depression. Learning a new skill or craft is also beneficial to overall well-being and health. This opportunity is available for individuals ages 10 and up, beginners or those who would like a refresher. Sign up for a session to learn to knit or crochet and explore the benefits of this craft for personal enjoyment and relaxation.

 

Materials needed: Please bring your own supplies: 1 skein of thick yarn (worsted weight); knitting needles (size U.S. 8 or 9) OR a crochet hook size I or J. Items easily available from Amazon or Joann’s/Michael’s local craft stores.

 

Location: The Peacemaker Center - Downingtown and Paoli Offices

Date/Time: 50 minute session based on therapist’s availability

Cost: $50 per session

Your Instructor: Karen Snyder, MS

Karen spent the first part of her professional life in financial operations and understands the pressures and anxieties of the workplace. She understands the power of silence and the need for peace and calm in daily life. Her goal is to help her clients recognize that peace within themselves and find hope for a healthier future, one step at a time.
