Judy has worked with the Board of Directors to lead The Peacemaker Center since its inception in 2000. Judy works from a family systems framework that includes understanding and changing patterns in one's life. She has worked with children and adults with learning disabilities and in the foster care and behavioral health systems. In addition to trauma, Judy works with couples and family relationships, people who have mood disorders and anxiety disorders and families with disruptive or addictive behaviors. Amy Wengrenovich Hummel, DA, LMFT
As a therapist, Amy holds the belief that each person has the capacity for growth and change. She incorporates self-compassion into therapy sessions as a way for individuals to form a new, healthier view of themselves. With couples, she helps them move past quarrels to take a look at what sits underneath the surface, which sets the stage for creating a more secure and trusting bond. Amy has experience as a coach and mentor in youth volleyball, where she continues to support young women in a sports psychologist role as the creator of "Power Up Whole Athlete". Her "passion project," as she calls it, is blogging and adding online resources for individuals, couples, and families through her online platform called "Rooted to Fly." She has maintained a private practice in the Philadelphia area since 1977. Bonnie Kotler, MS, LPC

With nearly 20 years experience of empowering individuals, couples and families, Dr. Nicole McKinney aims to inspire those she counsels. She is passionate about people and the restoration, maintenance, progression of their relationships. Dr. McKinney has experience working with people at various life stages, having different abilities and from diverse backgrounds. She also counsels at a private practice in the Philadelphia area. Dr. McKinney is the Program Manager for an NIH R01 research trial at the University of Delaware where she helps African American families coping with parental cancer. Dr. McKinney has experience as an adjunct professor for graduate students pursuing doctoral education. As well outreach experience details mentorship to undergraduate students in a leadership fellows program as they professionally develop and implement action strategies to meet their leadership goals. Sharie L Neal, MA, LPC

Vicki Shay, MA, LPC, CSAM
Vicki became a therapist because of her desire to help people reach their fullest potential by overcoming their difficulties and making changes to live a healthier, happier life. Using an approach that combines reality theory and person-centered techniques, Vicki works to facilitate an environment of hope and healing; to integrate faith, grace, and proven psychological principles with individuals, couples and families as they work through their difficulties and goals towards greater personal growth and wellness. Vicki and her husband, Tim, have three children and two grandchildren. As the mother of an autistic young man, she understands the challenges as well as the joys that come with raising a child with special needs, and together with her family is an active advocate for children and families of children with autism.

Tracy Y Defina, PhD
Tracy has extensive experience working with families as a preschool teacher, ministry head, and as a wife and parent of teenagers. Her passion is seeing individuals, couples, and families thrive. Christine Marie Granese, MS
Chris is dedicated to the whole person concept of mental, spiritual, and physical health. Her range of personal and professional experience include working with children and families concerning attachment and bonding. Chris relates and is sensitive to her experience with bereavement and addiction counseling. She engages her clients with Cognitive Behavior Therapy when it is suited for the individual. Mental health and self-care are areas of primary importance in her desire to empower individuals to gain new insight, change and re-create their story in order to lead a more fulfilling life. Chris is married and has five children. She and her husband co-founded a children's home in Central America, 23 years ago. She travels there several times a year and keeps involved by volunteering her time and sharing her love with those children. She is an avid cook, gardener and health and fitness enthusiast.

Deanne Weaver, MSC
Deanne began her journey to help clients out of her quest to know freedom, joy, and abundant life. Even while experiencing the heartache of dysfunctional relationships, she believes life is worth living. Deep within, she holds the capacity to experience both joy and sorrow. Emotions add color to life, and Deanne believes the ability to feel emotions, complicated or pleasant, is one of the greatest gifts she is blessed to live out. Erin Galway, MA, NCC
Erin is honored to serve as a counselor at The Peacemaker Center. She incorporates person-centered, cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, and mindfulness therapies and techniques to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to feel heard, recognize and use their strengths, explore their challenges, and grow empowered. Erin has enjoyed serving as a Registered Behavior Technician in agency, school, and home settings, as an Outpatient Therapist with individuals, families, and groups (psychiatric rehabilitation, anger management, social skills, school readiness, and extended school year groups), as a volunteer crisis counselor through Crisis Text Line, and as Campus Ministry Assistant in a university setting. In her Campus Ministry role, Erin supported university students and staff by supervising the community service work study program and creating and leading spiritual opportunities, such as retreats, for students. In her spare time, Erin enjoys hiking and biking.

Jill Dana Maher, MA, NCC
Jill's passion is helping her client's feel heard, supported and encouraged while working with them to identify areas for growth and tools for strength. Utilizing person-centered therapy as the foundation, Jill employs tools under the cognitive-behavioral (CBT), narrative, as well as solution-focused umbrellas depending on the client's needs and comfort. Karen Fitchett, MA
Karen, a breast cancer survivor, brings a variety of life experiences (e.g. Registered Nurse, small business owner, Human Resource Director, crisis pregnancy lay counselor) to her counseling. Nancy Mitchell, MABC
Nancy brings an abundance of life experiences to the counseling process. During her first career as a Certified Public Accountant, she audited major corporations and later led team-building exercises for CPA firms using DISC and other personality profiles. In her second career as an executive recruiter for attorneys, she coached her clients in effective interviewing skills, and guided them through the emotional aspects of job and career changes. After a diagnosis of breast cancer and subsequent treatment, Nancy returned to school to study counseling and pursue her ongoing interest in helping others live their lives to the fullest. With warmth, compassion, and humor, Nancy walks alongside her clients to support them in their journey toward emotional health and restoration. She uses an integrative approach to counseling that includes cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, strengths-based therapy, and other approaches. A lifelong Texan, Nancy and her husband Jerry moved to Pennsylvania from Houston.

Ruth Han, MA, NCC
Ruth's life's work is dedicated to the improvement of our young people and the moms and dads who raise them. She knows that investing in the mental health of our youth is prevention that pays off for a lifetime. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" - Ben Franklin. Ruth works with older children (ages 11+), adolescents, and young adults who are struggling with social anxiety, peer pressure, generalized anxiety, depression, anger, family conflict, and life goals. She also works with women and men who are struggling with their own mental health as they work to raise their families. Ruth is a retired children and youth pastor and retired homeschooling mom. Sandy Lewis, MHS
Sandy is part of a diverse multicultural family. She has raised six children and currently enjoys eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In 2018, after 20 years of service, Sandy retired as Director of Counseling for the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC). Previously she served as Program Director for Drug & Alcohol Outpatients at Riverside Care, Inc. She also served as Program Director at Women's Association for Women's Alternatives and was the founder of Gateway Emergency Shelter, the first in Chester County. Sandy was also the founder of the National organization, Bridge of Hope. Sandy Padron, MA
Sandy is building her specialty in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia. Her approach to therapy is using Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused, or Person-Centered approaches to help adolescents and adults cope with the concerns that bring them into therapy. Sandy is also currently working towards a certification in Play Therapy to provide therapy and treatment for children.

William Carl Lathon, MS, NCC
After a long career with the DuPont Company and serving as a US Navy Surface Warfare Officer, Carl feels called to serve others as a Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Especially because of the many ways Carl has been supported and blessed in his life, he feels a responsibility to help ensure others have a fair and equal opportunity to maximize their capabilities and to overcome the obstacles they face. He has coaching and counseling experience working with those ages 20 and up. His background includes individual and group counseling. While respecting others in a caring, empathetic, non-judgmental environment, Carl looks forward to working with his clients to help them identify and develop their inner self, achieve the goals they set, and handle the challenges they face.

Aaron Klapper, Master's Level Intern
Aaron's heart is to serve couples as they walk through the challenges that life inevitably presents. Having had the benefit of observing a number of role models for healthy relationships his wish is to come along side couples who might not have had the chance to observe a model relationship. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their maltipoo puppy, Remi. He also enjoys being active by working out at the gym, running, and yoga. Aaron highly values time with family and spends time with both his immediate and extended family as much as he can.

Bettina Yoder, Master's Level Intern
Bettina offers a safe space to clients whose hearts and voices have been silenced by trauma. During her 13 years as an educator, Bettina taught music and studio art classes, tutored students with learning differences, and led an academic program in a residential facility for teen girls. She developed a passion to see children and adolescents thrive in spite of difficult circumstances. Believing in the power of relational connection, she delights in walking with clients of all ages towards hope and healing. In her leisure time, she enjoys finding a new trail to bike, trying a new recipe, and singing alto with her choral ensemble.

Claudia N Robuck, Master's Level Intern
Claudia specializes in integrating spirituality with counseling practice regardless of religious preference or belief. After years of teaching Theology and serving in Church Ministry Claudia feels called to accompany individuals as a Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She is interested in serving the whole person to discover their unique meaning and purpose in life, free from fear and shame. She hopes to assist her clients in discovering their own abilities to heal, change and grow into the person they desire to be, and in relation to others.

Maddie Bray, Master's Level Intern
Maddie's main priority is to connect with others on a level that they may not have experienced before. Her life experience's have shown her that we all have that strength inside of us to move forward in a positive and beneficial way. Her faith and love for her family and friends have led her to the counseling field. Life's unique obstacles can seem overwhelming and discouraging, and her goal is to find that deeper meaning that everyone longs for. Through emotional connection, compassion, and vulnerability, she hopes to empower people to take that next step. She is very excited to continue learning and growing in her passion to help others.

Rachel Nokes , Master's Level Intern
Rachel's hope for counseling is that her clients will feel safe, comforted, and inspired to be their authentic selves. She believes that everyone is capable of cultivating change and becoming the best possible version of themselves. When she is not at The Peacemaker Center, Rachel works as a board-certified music therapist in a hospice setting. The quote, "When words fail, music speaks" is true, but her experience in the Clinical Mental Health Program has made it so counseling and music therapy are both effective and useful modalities. Rachel looks forward to working with individuals and assisting them in their personal growth and wellness journeys.

Stephen X Battle, Master's Level Intern
Stephen strives to create a space that facilitates a sense of trust and authenticity. He understands that human development is an ongoing process throughout all stages of life, and therefore everyone has the potential to grow. Stephen echoes Carl Jung's notion that "who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." By lighting a torch, he plans to help guide clients during their exploration of their current experiences. By joining the client in this raw space, he makes it a priority to build an authentic connection in therapy. Stephen looks forward to helping his clients grow and heal as they progress through their personal journey.

Talanda Wells, Master's Level Intern
Talanda has 15 years experience as an educator, with experience in child psychology and developmental psychology. She has been a mentor for adolescents for the past 7 years. Her approach to therapy is person centered. She believes “You Are What You Speak” and that a positive mindset helps cultivate change, creating mental and physical stability. Talanda works with children and families to attain their treatment goals by helping them to understand themselves as individuals and/or understand their family dynamics. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy and believes in a collaborative approach, developing goals together and working toward a healthy self and thriving relationships. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults develop and maintain long lasting, healthy relationships, and works with clients to manage or overcome obstacles so they can maximize their potential. She is a woman of Christian faith, married with one son.
