Kayla has always been a natural listener who loves to sit alongside others who are hurting. She is passionate about giving people a safe space to share their voice and be heard. Kayla has experience working with college students and young adults suffering from a variety of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, self-worth/self-esteem issues, relational issues, spiritual issues, sexuality, gender dysphoria, non-suicidal self-injury, trauma, and eating disorders. Kayla’s counseling passions include anxiety, chronic illness, self-worth/self-esteem issues, and trauma. She is gentle, easy-going, and nonjudgmental in her care and provides counseling through a compassion-focused, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach. Kayla believes in adapting treatment according to each client’s needs and draws interventions as needed from a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. In her free time, Kayla loves to spend time with her husband, laugh a ton with her closest friends and family, play video games, and watch anime. One of Kayla’s passions in life is to play the piano and sing, both independently at home and on the worship team at her church.
